OJRMS Leo Club

E-mail Print PDF

Hello parents and guardians,

Our OJRMS Leo Club has had a great start to the year!  I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself as the advisor of the MS Leos.  My name is Jen Scott, and I have been teaching at OJRMS for 10 years.  This being my 11th year, I was looking to take on a new venture.  Leo Club was an opportunity I could not refuse as volunteerism has always been near and dear to me.  As a teenager and high school student, I was a very active volunteer in many school based and community organizations.  As an adult, I continue to volunteer regularly through my church.  It is my pleasure to serve in this capacity and help guide your students in making a difference in their school and community.

We have been quite busy with our planning for several upcoming events.  I wanted to make you aware of a few important dates.  In addition, I wanted to let you know that my school wires has a page designated for the Leo Club, and you can use that page to keep current on Leo meetings/events. I look forward to having a great rest of the year with the Leos!  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Jen Scott

REA Trick-or-Treat Night – Thursday, 10/28 @ 5:30 PM – Meet at the High School Wildcat by 5:20 in costume – Parent pick up at 8:15 at the lot in front of the tennis courts.

Pink Out Unite for Her Football Game – Friday, 11/4 @ 6:30 PM – Parent drop off at 6:15 at the Wildcat – Students MUST bring student ID card to get in free – Parent pick up at 8:00 at the entrance to the stadium OR if you would like to come to meet your student at that time and sit with them for the game, please feel free.  I will be leaving once the students have checked out with parents, so please arrive promptly at 8:00.

Costume Run101 – Saturday, 11/5 @ 8:30 AM-12:00 – drop off at 8:20 at the OJRHS stadium – I will meet you at the top of the stairs to the stadium and plan to stay until 12:00 PM. Pick up at 12:00 at the same location.  You may wear costumes if you would like.

Coventry Food Pantry – Thursday, December 1 @ 6:00 PM – I am still working on the logistics of this as I am hoping to be able to drive the small group in a school van to this event.  We would meet here at the MS at 6:00 and return here for pick up by parents.  I will confirm the time closer to the date.  Space is limited, so I told the Leos to bring back a signed permission note from parents that they may attend this event.  I am taking the first 15 students that bring back a note.  So far, I only have two notes.  If your student is interested, please send in a signed note that they may attend this event.
