John McCormick, Owen J. Roberts High School Special Education Teacher and Leo Club Advisor spearheaded a special day of activities at the High School designed to enlighten students, faculty and more about dealing with Peer Pressure, Bullying and Decision Making.
"Imagine a world where every child feels safe, loved and celebrated. Where Bullying, Violence and Oppression are things of the past. This is the Work of Challenge Day"
John McCormick - "Just wanted to send out a heart-felt thank you to everyone for being supportive of yesterday’s (4/29/15) Challenge Day event. It was a special day that earned overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants, thanks to the many, many, many people who offered their time, energy, talents, and resources to make it happen. It invigorated me as an educator to see the students step outside of their normal comfort zone and take advantage of the opportunity to share their personal stories, form bonds, and appreciate each other as the human ‘work in progress’ that we all are.'
John went on to thank the myriad of individuals and organizations that made this special day possible.
