The Coventry Lions Club has prepared stuffed lions with the Lions Club logo emblazoned on a scarf. The scarves were made by President Chris's daughter Christina.
The Lions will be donated to community ambulance houses with the intention of being available for children involved in an accident or other stressful situation.
The Good Will Steam Fire Engine Co. runs the ambulance operations for the Pottstown located Goodwill Fire Station. The Goodwill ambulances are also stationed at the Norco Fire Company and the Ringing Hill Fire Company. Combined they serve a large portion of Coventry and Pottstown and respond to about 7000 ambulance calls a year. Approximately 10% or 700 of those involve children.
Lion President Chris assured Fire Chief Mike that the Lions would do what we can to help support those children with our Lions of Love and he is very thankful for whatever we can do.
Yesterday we delivered 30 Lions and there are about 35 more in stock. Once we understand how many are needed and how many we want to supply each year we can better predict cost and production requirements.
Lion President Chris said, "I think this program can go a long way to build good will in the community, involve others like the Leos, Cubs and possibly other clubs. So thanks to the Lions that recommended we follow through and all those that helped and will help in the future".
